While there is definitely some mechanical overlap with Slivers in this capacity, Allies really made it a centerpiece of their identity, whereas Slivers generally focus on static benefits that affect all Slivers
Its nice to get the Inkling token when you play this card, but the cost and lack of other interactions make this card forgettable
